دکتر هرمز اسدی هم در گذشت. یکی از انگشت شمار اکولوژیست های ایران و مسئول پروژه انتقال گوزن زرد از دشت ناز ساری. قرار بود با شروع ترم جدید برای سخنرانی و پرسش و پاسخ در همین زمینه دعوتش کنیم به دانشگاهمان!

Dr. Hormoz Asadi a renowned ecologist lost his life through a car accident while trans-locating a number of Persian Fallow deer on the midnight of Wednesday 9th Jan. Next to him, another valuable wildlife-lover Mr. Abaspour (head of Dena Protected area) also lost his life.

Dr. Asadi dedicated over 40 years of his life toprotection of wildlife of Iran and other parts of the world such as Pakistan, Australia, Nepal, US, UAE, Eastern Africa, South East Asia and some European countries. Also he was involved in conservation of Tiger project in India for about 9 years. Having been a member of Cat specialists group of IUCN, he was the initiator of the modern conservation of Asiatic Cheetah in Iran since 12 years ago.

Dr. Asadi spent many years of his life protecting Asiatic Cheetah, Caspian seal and Persian Fallow deer. Asadi is a well-known name to numerous number of environmental studies students who have directly been bestowed by his academic engagement or benefited from the results of his scientific endeavors.

This University professor, has also been the head of the Caspian sealproject and the Seal research center since 2006 in collaboration with Leeds University and Darwin Initiative. For the last 12 years he mainly worked on different species of wildlife of Iran.

All his work has been oflasting effect on the body of knowledge in the whole field specially and most specifically on larger Mammals.
